Cuisinart WM-PZ2 Pizzelle Press

CuisineArt Pizzelle MakerThis Cuisinart pizzelle maker is specially designed to make those Italian cookies. It provides even heat distribution to evenly bake the cookies. The non-stick baking plates are of high quality and will last a long time if you handle them with care and don’t use metal utensils on them. Important to note is that the Cuisinart WM-PZ2 Pizzelle Press has more features than electric irons of other brands. The most noticeable features are as follows:

Temperature regulation

Many irons have a default temperature setting that you cannot control. But not the Cuisinart pizzelle maker. This iron has 5 temperature settings you can choose from. So you can adapt the temperature to suit your batter and your browning preferences. Enabling you to make your perfect Italian cookie.

Indicator light

This iron comes with a green and red indicator light. This indicates when the iron is heated to the indicated temperature and afterwards it indicates when the cookie is done. The first function is quite handy, as it is necessary for your baking plates to be completely heated before you start baking. Since the cookies only need a matter of seconds to bake.  For a timer you can use the indicator light, but you can also simply use your phone. Which is often more accurate than timers on kitchen appliances.

Pros

  • Designed to create the perfect italian cookie
  • Even heat distribution
  • Temperature control
  • Ready indicator light
  • Utensils included: measuring spoons, rolling dowel for cannoli.
  • Easy to store
  • Made with non-stick baking plates and stainless steel exterior.

Cons

  • The latch is made of plastic and is therefore quite flimsy. It should be handled with care.
  • The resulting cookies are crispy as desired, but they could have been a little thinner.

Final conduct – Which Cuisinart pizzelle maker to choose

As we have seen, both Cuisinart pizzelle makers are high quality kitchen appliances and both will result in great cookies. However, there are some differences.

The greatest difference is the purposes they serve. If you simply want a pizzelle iron, noting more, you are better off choosing the Cuisinart WM-PZ2 Pizzelle Press. This iron is designed for the sole purpose of creating those Italian treats. If you are looking for a multi-purpose kitchen appliance that happens to make pizzelles, the Cuisinart International pizzelle crêpe and pancake plus is the best one for you. It does not only create thin and crispy pizzelles, but also allows you to make crepes, pancakes, tortillas and more!

Another difference: the multi-purpose Cuisinart pizzelle maker has removable baking plates that are dishwasher safe. The WM-PZ2 can only be cleaned with a cloth, as the plates are not removable. So if you prefer easy cleanup, choose the multi-purpose Cuisinart pizzelle maker. Keep in mind however, that the WM-PZ2 also has non-stick plates, so wiping them should not require much work either.
